Entire communities have lived generation after generation without ever hearing that God loves them personally. Without knowing that Jesus died specifically for their sins. Without experiencing the freedom of forgiveness or the joy of direct relationship with their Creator.

They're not in spiritual darkness by choice. They're in darkness because no one has brought them the light.

Christmas is such a wonderful time where we get to spend time with family, open gifts, eat lots of yummy food, and celebrate the birth of Jesus.

But did you know for a lot of kids around the world, they've never celebrated Christmas before? Not because they don't want to, but because they've never heard about Jesus and what he did for us.

Asia is a beautiful continent full of lovely people and amazing food. But there are children who have never heard about the story of the gospel, never heard that Jesus came and died for us on the cross, and have never learned the true meaning of Christmas.

There are people called missionaries, men and women who have chosen to go into these places and share the love of Jesus. They work really hard to spread the gospel and the hope that Jesus brings us. But they need our help.

That's why at Fire and Rain, we've created a Christmas catalogue to show you different ways that you can give the gift of the gospel and share the hope of Jesus with kids and families all around Asia.

Use these conversation starters and storytelling prompts based on Joyce's message to help your children understand missions and the gospel.

Start with What They Know

Discussion Question: "What do you love most about Christmas?"

Bridge to Gospel: Explain that Christmas celebrates Jesus' birthday, and that's the best gift of all. Some children have never heard this story.

Key Point: Help them understand that not everyone knows about Jesus yet.

Simple Explanation: "Missionaries are like Jesus' helpers who travel to tell people about God's love."
